Many job seekers are already aware of the new strategies needed to develop affective job search strategies. With the rising unemployment rates,  emerging web technologies, and the new available job tools, job searching has become even more competitive than ever.

You need to treat your job search strategy like a PR Campaign to spread the word. First of all, make sure that you become recognized online. You should have an online profile on the major social networking websites, and especially LinkedIN. Make sure to join relative groups.

You also need to become recognized and noticed by potential hiring managers. You may contact them directly to remind them of your credentials. If you have the mailing address of the hiring authority, you may consider sending a hardcopy letter or resume to attract their attention.

Think “out side the box” to stand out!
