Resumes that used to function as your “first impression” to an employer have become the second or third thing an employer will see about you.

Social media sites such as LinkedIn, website resumes, and portfolios have allowed job seekers to tap into the hidden job market and bypass sending resumes first.

Today, your LinkedIn profile is more likely to be your first impression with a potential employer.
